Leon Augustine is an American football Kicker for the Indianapolis Colts. He was a JuCo transfer from Columbia-Greene Community College and finished his collegiate career playing at North Texas. The Indianapolis Colts selected him with the 123rd overall pick in the 2020 NFLHC Draft.

Early Years

Augustine was born in Hudson, New York. The son of a Spanish journalist, he was raised in Málaga, Spain before returning to the United States as a young teenager. He walked on to the varsity soccer squad his freshman year at Hudson High School which lead to his role as place kicker for the varsity football team. He was also a member of the school's varsity swim team his freshman and sophomore year.

College Career

Augustine was not offered any scholarships straight out of high school and his parents were not financially stable enough to send him to university after he graduated. He was accepted into Columbia-Greene Community College where he tried out for the school's soccer team but was not able to make the first team. He decided to try out for the school's football team where he caught the eye of many other universities by the time he was eligible for transfer his sophomore year, (2017). From there he transferred to North Texas for his Junior and Senior year. He graduated with a degree in Communications with an emphasis in Broadcasting. In his premier year with North Texas in 2018 he was named to the C-USA All Conference team and was voted C-USA Specialist Player of the Year by Media and Coaches. In his Senior year, 2019, he was named to the All-American team, won the Lou Groza Award for being the best place kicker in CFBHC and he won the Vlade Award, which is a place kicker award voted on by coaches who have won a National Championship.
