Buchanan was selected with the 97th overall pick of the 2014 NFLHC Draft by the Oakland Raiders.

2014 Season

Buchanan led the league in rushing yards with 1308 yards in 11 games (not counting playoffs) and 12 TDs. He averaged 4.26 yards per carry and 118 yards per game. He was not the most efficient back, but he was one of the most consistent. His best game was the final week of the regular season in which he ran for 184 yards and 3 TDs on 29 carries.

After losing the super bowl, Buchanan re-signed with the Oakland Raiders for 4 years and $16 million.
