History
Early History
The Nevada Wolf Pack began play in the 2015 CFBHC Season. They suffered loss after loss, and ended up 1-11 overall and 0-7 in the AAC. However, Stephan Bennett began to emerge as a legitimate leader of the squad, and many positive things were on show. John Sheldon and David Brown began to show sparks of brilliance at the wide receiver position while Marvin Carter kept defenses honest with his gashing runs and nose for the end zone. Defensively, linebacker John Harris anchored the line, leading the team in tackles. A weak pass rush was bolstered up with the dominant play of cornerback Peter Blackwell and the growing pass rush presence of defensive tackle Danny Davis.
SageBow Era (2016-2017)
Newcomer coach SageBow stepped in to try to revitalize the Nevada program. This was also the first year the team played in the newly formed Mountain West Conference. Entering the season, SageBow put the captain's patch on quarterback Stephan Bennett, cornerback Peter Blackwell, and wide receiver David Brown. In week 7, SageBow earned his first win as the run heavy Wolf Pack blasted Navy 42-14. While the Wolf Pack made great strides on the field and in recruiting, they ended up with another losing record and no bowl game. At the end of the season, SageBow decided to head east to coach his alma mater, the Tennessee Volunteers, leaving behind a team that ended 5-7 with the #30 recruiting class in the nation.
newphewjack Era (2017-2021)
After SageBow's departure for Tennessee, the Wolf Pack began a coaching search and ultimately landed nephewjack, formerly of Ohio University. The Wolf Pack began the season with high hopes and a daunting matchup against highly-touted North Carolina, but a 31-24 win in Reno sent a message that Nevada was prepared to continue.
joopear Era (2021-Present)
Midway through the season, newphewjack was replaced with former Oregon State head coach joopear.
