Christian Barkley (born July 21, 1990) is an American football Quarterback who currently plays for the Cincinnati Bengals. He played college football at Texas Tech. The Jacksonville Jaguars drafted him in the 2nd round of the 2019 NFL Draft.

Professional Career
Jacksonville Jaguars
Barkley was drafted by the Jaguars 33rd overall, in their first year under new GM Soluna.
Barkley played sparingly during his rookie season, with the Jags starting veteran Kamau Davus.
In 2020, Barkley was given the reigns to the offense, with fellow 2019 Draft selection Asante Sowell shouldering much of the load, and rookie 1st Round selection Raheem Robinson aiding in the passing game. The Jaguars went 12-4, making an appearance in the Divisional Round of the playoffs.
In 2021, Barkley and co. regressed in a season marred with injury for Sowell, and the team finished 5-11. After Sowell's injury, Soluna had turned to Barkley's arm in hopes of success, and he wasn't satisfied with Barkley's ability to carry the team without Sowell's support.
In 2022 Free Agency, the Jaguars made a run at free agent quarterbacks, first targeting Paul Davenport, and then signing ex-Cowboy and Cardinal QB Taylor Rodriguez, who agreed to a multi-year deal, ending Barkley's short reign as Jaguars starting QB.
The Jaguars made no attempt to extend him an offer to re-sign during the 2022 season.
Arizona Cardinals
Barkley didn't see any starting opportunity in 2023 Free Agency, and went unsigned entering the draft.
The Arizona Cardinals had previously signed A.J. Jefferson in 2023 Free Agency, but they made an effort to sign Barkley post-2023 Draft, lofting up more money than the Indianapolis Colts, who also expressed interest at signing Barkley to be a backup. Barkley signed a 3-year, $9M deal matching the length of Jefferson's contract. Barkley would replace veteran QB Greg Bierria as the #2 QB on the Cardinals depth chart entering training camp.
Barkley mainly held kicks and a clipboard through the 2023 season, but following a slow 2024 Cardinals start, A.J. Jefferson was benched for Arizona-returnee Jarius Jones. Jones was injured in his first start of the season, and the winless Cardinals gave Barkley a shot at the starting role. Jefferson returned as the starter against Tampa, but was injured in the first half. Barkley was the Cardinals QB during the second half, going 10/24 and ultimately losing the game, and the Cardinals released him following his dismal performance.
Cincinnati Bengals
The Bengals signed Barkley to a 1-year deal to close out the 2024 season.
