Professional career

Pre-draft

Despite a less than stellar college career, Hutchinson was still expected to be drafted as one of the better free safety prospects available.

Draft

Hutchinson was selected with the 163rd overall pick of the 2015 NFLHC Draft by the New York Jets.

2015 Season

Hutchinson easily won the starting FS job for the Jets over UDFA signing Joseph Harris. In the Jets' final game of the year, he recorded a 67-yard interception return for a touchdown, the first interception of his career.

2016 Season

Hutchinson recorded his second interception early in the year, but was quiet for the rest of the season.

2017 Season

Hutchinson was made available by the Jets in the 2017 NFLHC Expansion Draft, where he was selected by the Bears with the 9th overall pick.
