Heading into the draft, Dyer's ability was questioned among most scouts. His ability at Special Teams and as a receiver is what made him more sought after rather than as a runningback.
Draft
With too many questions surrounding Dyer's ability as a runningback and his potential only being in the area as a returner he eventually fell to the Vikings in the 6th round of the 2024 NFLHC Draft.

Dyer had a strong Rookie minicamp in 2024 with his ability of returner being the highlight of the camp. His retuning ability alone was enough to secure a roster spot in Minnesota. In week 8 he returned his first ever touchdown as a pro.
