The Liberty University Flames are an Independent collegiate American football team. The team was formed prior to the start of the 2021 season, being promoted from the FCS level. Currently coached by xkl219, the Flames play their home games at Williams Stadium in Lynchburg, Virginia.

History
Creation and Inaugural Season
The Liberty Flames were created for the 2021 CFBHC Season along with several other schools that would be placed in the Sun Belt, while Liberty and New Mexico State were introduced as FBS Independents. After a brief stint with TheZandala that produced zero wins, even the hiring of xkl219 could not prevent the Flames from going 0-12, making them the only team who failed to achieve a win during the season.
TheZandala era (2021)
TheZandala became the first-ever coach of the Liberty Flames in time for the start of the 2021 season. He was unable to win a game during his short stint as head coach and abruptly resigned after achieving a measly 0-7 record.
xkl219 era (2021-present)
Despite previous inconsistencies as head coach of Tulane and Georgia State as well as ongoing issues with family and mental health, xkl219 returned to coaching and took the reigns of the Flames' football program in an effort to dislay his true ability as a coach. While he too failed to win a game and dragged the team to a dismal 0-12 record, the Flames showed promise under his leadership and look very capable of winning games going forward.
