The Air Force Falcons moved to the new Mountain West Conference for the 2016 season and play in the Mountain Division. They played as members of the AAC West Division during the 2014 and 2015 seasons.
The Air Force Falcons play home games at Falcon Stadium, the second highest field in CFBHC at 6,621 feet above sea level. The field is aligned in the traditional north-south configuration and is situated on the grounds of the United States Air Force Academy southeast of the academic campus.

Rivalries
Commander-in-Chief's Trophy

Air Force, Army, and Navy compete annually for the Commander-in-Chief's Trophy. The Trophy is awarded to the team which beats the other two in a season, or retained by the previous winner in the event that all three go 1-1. Air Force won the Trophy in 2014, and 2019.
Colorado State Rams

The Air Force Falcons and the Colorado State Rams are in state divisional rivals within the MWC. Air Force holds a 5-1 lead in the series. The 2016 meeting saw both teams undefeated in conference play with the division title on the line.
Hawaii Warriors

The Air Force Falcons and the Hawaii Warriors are rivals within the MWC. The Kuter Trophy is awarded to the winner of the annual meeting. The road team has won all three meetings as of 2019. With Air Force and Hawaii playing in opposite divisions of the Mountain West Conference, the series will not be played every year.
