Prior to his arrival at Northwestern, robcarlson77, spent one season at the helm of the Northern Illinois Huskies and compiled a 4-8 record. The Wildcats struggled mightily in their first year under their new coach, limping to a 1-11 (1-8) record. The 2021 season, the second under robcarlson77, showed a tremendous amount of growth as Northwestern finished 6-7 (3-6) ultimately losing to Virgina Tech in the Pinstripe Bowl.
