=== 2013 Season ===
+
=== Amarty Era (2013) ===
The [[2013 Vanderbilt Commodores Football Team|2013 season]] was the first in which the Vanderbilt Commodores played. The Commodores finished the regular season with a 0-12 record, and were the only team to have done so.
+
The Vanderbilt Commodores were one of the schools involved in the inaugural season of CFBHC. Vanderbilt alumnus amarty was tapped to head the program through it's beginning seasons. Amarty led the team to an 0-2 start before disappearing suddenly, leaving the team leaderless until a new coach could be hired.

=== 2013 Offseason ===
+
=== Vandyjd Era (2013) ===
After the 2013 season, described by Vanderbilt Athletic Director Geoffrey Robberbaron as, "An utter embarrassment! I couldn't show my head at the country club for weeks. And don't even mention the constant taunts at our secret illuminati luncheons", Vanderbilt hired serwendel, a former Vanderbilt recruiting coordinator, to the post of head coach. Said Robberbaron of serwendel, "He's a top notch chap, always good about avoiding those losses."
+
After the uncoached Commodores lost yet another two games, the Vanderbilt athletic department hired vandyjd to coach the program. Vandyjd led the program to an 0-3 record, before leaving the Commodores coachless as well. The Commodores' coaching position remained vacant for the remainder of the season, as Vanderbilt went 0-5 during that time frame. The 2013 season of Vanderbilt football is known as "The Lost Season" as Vanderbilt became the first team to go winless in CFBHC.

===2014 Season===
+
=== serwendel Era (2014-2013) ===
In the 2014 season, the Vanderbilt Commodores finished with a 3-9 record. While such a record is normally viewed as an embarrassment by other teams, the Vanderbilt fanbase have viewed it as a huge improvement. The Commodores' season was marked by wins over North Carolina and Florida.

===2015 Season===
+
After the horrendous first season, Vanderbilt hired serwendel to coach the team. Inheriting a roster full of holes, serwendel led the 2014 Commodores to a 3-9 record. Over time serwendel has led the Commodores to a 51-48 record. With losses in the Weis Market Bowl (against Clemson) and the Liberty Bowl (against Texas Tech), serwendel led Vanderbilt to their first bowl win in the 2019 Orange Bowl against Pittsburgh. The 2020 season began with a bit of promise, and the Commodores finished with a record of 9-4 and a win in the Liberty Bowl, avenging their loss to Texas Tech two years earlier. In 2021 however, the team backslid losing out after winning their first three games of the season to finish 3-9, this downturn continued through 2022, where a young Vanderbilt team struggled to a 2-10 record. Expectations are higher for the 2023 season, as an embattled serwendel will lead the team through a rough schedule.
The Commodores' 2015 resulted in a 8-4 record, followed up by a defeat in the first bowl game in school history, the Weis Market bowl. Vanderbilt's 2015 season was notable for the amount of newcomers played, with a school record of 8 true and redshirt freshmen starting at their respective positions.

===2016 Season===
+
=== Lrickar1 Era (2024-present) ===
The 2016 season began with Vanderbilt fans having the high expectations of qualifying for a bowl game. These expectations were ultimately dashed as the Commodores lost their first five games of the season. The team began to turn their season around with a surprising upset of the Florida Gators in Gainesville. Ultimately, Vanderbilt finished the season at 5-7, leaving fans with a good impression of the final stretch of the season.
+
After sewendel left Vanderbilt for Michigan, former Cincinnati Bearcats head coach Lrickar1 took over the vacant position.

===2017 Season===
+
==All-time record vs. SEC opponents==
The 2017 season is about to begin, with the new look Vanderbilt Commodores hyped up to begin the season in Cincinnati. After a win against the Bearcats, the 2017 season turned downhill for the Commodores, losing six of their next seven games. A spirited team meeting lifted the Commodores' spirits in week 12; after which serwendel's team won four games in a row, turning the season finale against the rival Tennessee Volunteers into a fight for bowl eligibility. Vanderbilt ended up losing that game, but left with high spirits, as the team graduated no starters.

The Vanderbilt Commodores, coached by lrickar1, are a collegiate football team playing in the SEC. The Commodores play in Vanderbilt Stadium in Nashville Tennessee, and are a member of the East Division of the SEC.

History

Amarty Era (2013)

The Vanderbilt Commodores were one of the schools involved in the inaugural season of CFBHC. Vanderbilt alumnus amarty was tapped to head the program through it's beginning seasons. Amarty led the team to an 0-2 start before disappearing suddenly, leaving the team leaderless until a new coach could be hired.

Vandyjd Era (2013)

After the uncoached Commodores lost yet another two games, the Vanderbilt athletic department hired vandyjd to coach the program. Vandyjd led the program to an 0-3 record, before leaving the Commodores coachless as well. The Commodores' coaching position remained vacant for the remainder of the season, as Vanderbilt went 0-5 during that time frame. The 2013 season of Vanderbilt football is known as "The Lost Season" as Vanderbilt became the first team to go winless in CFBHC.

serwendel Era (2014-2013)

Lrickar1 Era (2024-present)

After sewendel left Vanderbilt for Michigan, former Cincinnati Bearcats head coach Lrickar1 took over the vacant position.
