High school career
Williams was a star QB for Framingham, approaching the Massachusetts state record for passing yards in a season but ultimately falling short. He was considered a top 100 prospect in his class, and immediately accepted a scholarship offer from Pitt once it was offered.
College career
2014 Season
Williams was redshirted his freshman season due to the presence of star QB James Dale though reportedly coach Jumbo told him that he was guaranteed the starting position once Dale either left for the draft or graduated.
2015 Season
Williams served as the backup to Dale, though he did not come in for any games. There were reports that Williams was considering a transfer.
2016 Season
