Coming from tiny Barrington, Sagatomo was not offered a scholarship by a Division I school and committed to play for the local Wildcats of New Hampshire. While in college his standout skills on the field and a growth spurt drew the attention of professional scouts.

2020 Season
Sagatomo earned a starting position in preseason and promptly justified the coaching staff's faith in him. He recorded 45 tackles, 2 interceptions, 6 sacks, 1 forced and recovered fumble, and a defensive touchdown. However, he lost the defensive rookie of the year voting to [[Tennessee Titans|Tennessee] defensive end Tyler Jones.
